Gấu chạy hoang dại khiến thị trường tiếp tục giảm điểm; Lãi suất trái phiếu tăng vọt, nhiều cổ phiếu gặp khó.
Gấu lại tiếp tục cắn xé thị trường trong bối cảnh lãi suất trái phiếu kho bạc tăng vọt trong phiên hôm nay. Bước nhảy bất ngờ của một chỉ số dịch vụ làm gia tăng khả năng Fed tiếp tục hành trình tăng lãi suất.
Nasdaq rơi nhiều nhất trong các chỉ số chính với mức 0,7%. Hôm nay Nasdaq ghi nhận phiên thứ 7 liên tiếp giảm điểm. Đây được xem là chuỗi giảm điểm dài nhất kể từ tháng 11/2016. Từ đầu năm, chỉ số này giảm 27%.
S&P 500 nỗ lực phục hồi vào vùng tích cực ngay từ sớm nhưng cuối phiên đóng cửa lại giảm 0,4%. Chỉ số này ghi nhận 6 phiên giảm điểm trong 7 phiên vừa qua.
Bức tranh trở nên u ám hơn khi khối lượng giao dịch tăng trên cả hai sàn. Điều đó đồng nghĩa, cả Nasdaq và S&P 500 đều có thêm một ngày phân phối. Hiện hai chỉ số này đang gánh tới 6 ngày phân phối trong bối cảnh xu hướng uptrend hiện tại của thị trường có nguy cơ thất bại nghiêm trọng.
Màn thể hiện của các nhóm ngành trên S&P đều gây thất vọng khi mà phần lớn đều kết phiên giảm điểm. Cổ phiếu dịch vụ truyền thông và năng lượng hoạt động tệ hại nhất trong khi cổ phiếu tiện ích phòng thủ và bất động sản lại trở thành những cái tên sáng nhất.
Cổ phiếu blue chip cũng vừa trải qua một phiên sóng gió khi Dow Jones Industrial Average giảm 0.6%. Visa (V) là cổ phiếu tốt nhất khi tăng nhẹ trong khi các cổ phiếu như 3M (MMM) và Intel (INTC) giảm lần lượt đến 4.2% và 2.8%,.
Cổ phiếu vốn hóa nhỏ vật lộn; lãi suất trái phiếu kho bạc tăng vọt trong sự ngỡ ngàng
Russell 2000 giảm 1% trong khi Innovator IBD 50 ETF (FFTY) đảo chiều giảm 1,2%.
Cổ phiếu nhìn chung bị chấn thương sau khi chỉ số dịch vụ Mỹ của Institute for Supply Management tăng lên mức 56.9 trong tháng 8 so với 56.7 hồi tháng 7. Điều này là gây bất ngờ khi mà các nhà phân tích dự đoán nó sẽ giảm về mức 55.2.
Lãi suất trái phiếu kho bạc kỳ hạn 10 năm tăng 15 điểm cơ sở lên mức 3,34% trong khi mà khả năng tăng lãi suất với mức cao của Fed ngày một gia tăng.
Nhà phân tích thị trường cấp cao Edward Moya cho biết, việc kinh tế phục hồi sẽ mở đường cho việc Fed thắt chặt chính sách tiền tệ.
“Cổ phiếu sẽ gặp khó khi mà quá nhiều các lĩnh vực kinh tế tăng trưởng tích cực. Điều này sẽ đẩy Phố Wall vào tình trạng rất dễ bị tổn thương sau một thời gian dài tăng lãi suất”.
Những nhóm cổ phiếu này gặp khó nhiều nhất
Hôm nay là một ngày giao dịch tệ hại cho các cổ phiếu bán lẻ như trang sức, điện thoại di động, nội thất, điện tử tiêu dùng. Cổ phiếu sản xuất thuốc cũng gặp khó.
Ở chiều ngược lại, cổ phiếu năng lượng mặt trời lại tỏa sáng trong khi cổ phiếu than và thép lại tăng tốt.
Sunrun (RUN) nằm trong số những cổ phiếu tốt nhất hôm nay và trở thành cổ IBD Stock Of The Day trong phiên vừa qua.
Mặc dù hiện tại chưa thể hiện quá nhiều nhưng cổ phiếu đã vượt cả MA50 và MA200 ngày. Cổ phiếu này xứng đáng để theo dõi khi hình thành nền giá tạo đáy trong vài tuần qua.
