Các chỉ số chính đóng cửa trái chiều sau 3 phiên bán tháo, cổ phiếu tiện ích suy sụp trước quyết định của Fed.
Nỗ lực phục hồi của thị trường chứng khoán đã không thành hiện thực trong phiên vừa qua sau 3 phiên liên tiếp bị bán tháo trên các chỉ số chính.
Sau khi giảm 10,6% trong 3 phiên trước đó, chỉ số Nasdaq hôm nay nhích nhẹ 0,2%. Phiên hôm qua, Nasdaq đã cắt thủng đáy của ngày 20/5, mở đường cho hành trình test đáy 10.519 điểm của tháng 9/2020.
Cổ phiếu Trung Quốc hồi phục sau trận bán tháo hôm thứ Hai và nằm trong số những cổ phiếu thể hiện tốt nhất Nasdaq 100. Pinduoduo (PDD) dẫn đường với mức tăng 12%. JD.com (JD), Baidu (BIDU) và NetEase (NTES) kết phiên tăng từ 4% đến 7%.
S&P 500 nối dài đà giảm thành 5 phiên với mức giảm 0,4%. Chỉ số này có thể test lại vùng phá vỡ hồi tháng 11/2020.
Động lực của thị trường
FedEx (FDX) và Oracle (ORCL) là những cái tên hàng đầu trên S&P 500 phiên nay. FDX tạo khoảng trống tăng giá và tăng vọt với mức 14,4% sau khi công ty tăng cổ tức quý này lên mức 1,15 USD từ mức 75 xu. Bên cạnh đó, công ty cũng bổ sung một số thành viên ban quản trị nhằm xoa dịu các nhà đầu tư.
Trong khi đó Oracle tăng hơn 10% sau khi công ty công bố lợi nhuận và doanh thu tốt hơn kỳ vọng do lực cầu mạnh mẽ đối với cơ sở hạ tầng đám mây. Tuy vậy, cổ phiếu kết phiên vuột mất mức đỉnh trong ngày. ORCL hiện vẫn đang nằm dưới đường trung bình động 50 và 200 ngày.
Dow Jones Industrial Average giảm 0,5% và có thể sẵn sàng test lại vùng phá vỡ trước của tháng 11/2020.
iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) cũng giảm 0,5%. Chỉ số vốn hóa nhỏ hôm qua kết phiên ngấp nghé mức đáy của phiên 12/5 nhưng hôm nay đã cắt thủng mức này.
Khối lượng giao dịch giảm trên cả 2 sàn Nasdaq và NYSE. Số cổ phiếu giảm nhiều hơn số cổ phiếu tăng với tỷ lệ 2-1.
Tình trạng bán tháo dữ dội vẫn tiếp tục diễn ra đối với cổ phiếu tiện ích.
Trong số 11 ETFs trong lĩnh vực này trên S&P thì Utilities Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLU) là cái tên tệ nhất với mức giảm 2,5%. Sau khi giảm 4% hồi tuần trước thì tuần này, quỹ này cũng giảm thêm 7%. Các công ty tiện ích có xu hướng mắc nợ nhiều hơn, nhất là khi tình trạng lãi suất có xu hướng ngày càng gia tăng như hiện nay.
Theo bản tin kinh tế, giá bán buôn tăng 0,8% trong tháng 5, cao hơn tháng Tư. Đồng nghĩa giá cả tăng 10,8% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái, dưới mức ước tính đồng thuận là 11%. Ngoại trừ chi phí năng lượng và thực phẩm, giá cả tăng 0,7% so với tháng Tư, cao hơn một chút so với kỳ vọng và tăng 9,7% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái, quá cao so với mức dự báo 8,7%.
Lãi suất trái phiếu tiếp tục tăng
Sau khi tăng 21 điểm cơ sở vào phiên hôm qua lên mức 3.37%, lãi suất trái phiếu kho bạc kỳ hạn10 năm phiên nay lại tăng thêm 10 điểm nữa lên 3,45%. FED được dự đoán là sẽ tăng 0,75% lãi suất. Tháng 7 rất có thể tổ chức này sẽ tiếp tục áp một đợt tăng lãi suất tương tự. Câu hỏi đặt ra là thị trường chứng khoán sẽ phản ứng ra sao trước những đợt tăng lãi suất chóng mặt như hiện nay.
Điều mà chúng ta biết ngay lúc này đó là thị trường chứng khoán bước vào điều chỉnh. Trong bối cảnh phe gấu đang kiểm soát tình hình hiện nay thì đây là thời điểm để các nhà đầu tư giữ vị thế tiền mặt lành mạnh.
Cổ phiếu dầu khi vượt trội đà tăng trên S&P 500 cho đến khi giá dầu đảo chiều. Trên sàn New York Mercantile Exchange, giá dầu thô tương lai của Mỹ giao dịch quanh 123,68 USD/ thùng nhưng kết phiên lại giảm 1,7% xuống mức 118,93 USD. Trong khi đó, giá khí đốt tự nhiên giảm 16,5%.
Mảng năng lượng tiếp tục xuất hiện những cổ phiếu dẫn dắt thị trường.
Devon Energy (DVN) và Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) tiếp tục nằm trên đường MA50 ngày. Trong khi đó Diamondback Energy (FANG) quay trở lại vùng mua với điểm vào 148,09 USD. Với diễn biến chung của thị trường chứng khoán, phiên thứ Hai, FANG đã đóng cửa ở mức thấp nhất phiên.
Các cổ phiếu tăng trưởng nhanh khác trong nhóm cũng đang test đường hỗ trợ MA21 ngày trong đó có SM Energy (SM), Matador Resources (MTDR) và PDC Energy (PDCE).
